City of Marionville Park

Marionville City Park is a place where history, recreation, and community come together. The park’s grounds hold deep local roots, beginning with a creamery established in 1911, which ranked second in the state and produced 38,529 pounds of butter in 1913. Shortly after, the Honey Creek Bottling Works, a local soft drink company, operated east of the creek. A tomato canning factory later occupied the area where today’s pavilion stands. When the factory closed, the property was purchased in 1963 by the Marionville Lions Club for back taxes, and through the dedication of local residents and the Lions Club, Marionville City Park was born.

Today, the park offers something for all ages. It is home to three ball fields, a lower park playground with swings, a play structure, and concrete picnic tables, as well as a large reservable pavilion ideal for gatherings and community events. The pavilion is located next to a fenced toddler play area, a half basketball court, a volleyball space, and nearby restrooms. Pavilion reservations are available through City Hall at 417-258-2466.

The upper playground features a wheelchair-accessible, inclusive play space with ADA-accessible restrooms, inclusive swings, a second play structure, slides, and a merry-go-round. New in 2025, the park also added a disc golf course, providing fun recreation for all ages.

Marionville City Park reflects the town’s commitment to honoring its past while creating a welcoming, inclusive space for families, athletes, and visitors to enjoy.
